Xicu's beginnings were an introspective and melodic journey with his works 'Sol' and 'BLAU', where delicacy and reflection were the common threads. A year later, the artist presented '22' (Delirics, 2023), a darker and more powerful EP that explored the labyrinths of love and heartbreak, with notable collaborations such as Julieta, Teuma Thug (P.A.W.N Gang) and Galgo Lento.
With 'Sacrificis', his most recent album, released in September and presented live on January 16 at La Nau in Barcelona, Xicu took a step forward in his musical evolution. This work marked a more experimental stage in his career, where words took center stage and music became the inseparable companion of the stories he told. ‘Sacrifices’ is a dense and raw album, where the artist explores the concept of “sacrifice” in different areas: for music, for family, for relationships and for oneself. After this album, Xicu gave us ‘AYE’, a single that reflects on his style, his identity and how these elements influence his love relationships.
Now, he presents us with ‘Tu I Jo No Morirem Mai’, a new EP that mainly describes the strange feeling of feeling far away from someone who has always been a part of your life and not being able to overcome the loss for fear of the future. The assumptions that one makes from their bed thinking about what that person will be doing and the self-deception that, no matter how much the relationship has ended, what they felt will never die. This new work by Xicu puts the end to the sonic journey of ‘Sacrificis’. With influences from artists such as Rusowsky, Ralphie Choo and Tristán!, Xicu fuses styles ranging from experimental pop to Urban and Jersey Club, creating a unique soundscape that invites us to travel through a range of emotions. Now, with ‘Tu I Jo No Morirem Mai’, he takes us even further in this sonic and emotional exploration, which we can see live at festivals as renowned as Vida and Primavera Sound (Primavera Pro)!
